Announcing the “6cities in 12 months” experiment

Some of us are more restless than others. I’ve always felt like I need to keep moving – and not just in the physical sense. I plummeted through high school, taking on as many extracurricular and other projects as possible (including international conferences, MUN, work experience abroad) while holding down an English-teaching part-time job since the age of 15. In my senior year I did the unthinkable and applied to one of the best universities in the world, just so I could never regret not giving it a try, and it somehow worked out. For three years Cambridge was an amazing challenge in every possible way, followed by this first post-graduation year in the ‘real world’, learning as much as I can at my first job.

I just somehow have an urge to keep moving.

A Year On: LifeWithSocialMedia.com Re-Imagined

I started this blog a year ago, in June 2010. A lot can change in a year and today I bring LifeWithSocialMedia.com back into the light of the blogosphere, with a new resolve, with new ideas and with new direction.

Why Ad:Tech Did Permission Marketing Right

As I mentioned in my previous post, I learned a few lessons at Ad:Tech this week. What I liked most about the event, however, was the precision with which they had permission marketing down to an art.

Lessons Learnt at AdTech 2010

I’ve just returned from my first big industry event. It was exciting and new and a great experience of actually going out there as someone who works in the field, representing a company. I was able to have a conversation about the products and strategies that were being presented with the background of having worked on real-world projects, helping several clients.

Tools I Use: I Heart Mixero

I have a confession to make. I’m one of them. One of the elusive Gen Y, part of the tribe that’s pretty much been on the Internet since I turned ten. I love technology and everything it brings. I not only spend most of my day on social media but I’ve also made it my job. Yes, I’m one of those.

Are Smartphones Transforming Our Social Media Interactions?

I’ve made it one of my goals recently to try and get a bit more involved with local events and the local community, meet new people and get contacts in the industries I’m interested in. Cambridge is a good place to do this as it hosts many events and meetups, catering to technology geeks, creative people, internationals and whatever else may take my fancy.

So I started going, and I’m really enjoying it so far, most recently at last week’s CamCreative MeetUp.

But surprisingly, there’s one thing that has made the biggest impact on my experience of the events so far:

I’ve got a smartphone. And so do a lot of the other attendees.

[Be Different]: Using Your Visual Resume … Plus I’m a StudentBranding.com Contributor

I have talked previously about how you can create a visual resume.

I’m very happy to announce that I’m an official StudentBranding.com contributor as of today! The reason I’m writing about this is that my first post on the site can serve as a useful follow-up to the original article as it expands on the topic and talks about the different ways in which a visual resume could be used.

So hop over to the site and read about Using a Visual Resume.
